Side length of cube
a =

Diameter of shere
d =

Rounding: significant digits.
Decimal sign:

With this converter you can calculate the side length of a cube or the diameter of a sphere from the size of a volume. Calculations vice versa are also possible. Input and output are possible in various metric and non-metric units.

Usage: Always choose the correct unit in the corresponding pull-down-menu before you type a value. Type the size of a volume, the side length of a cube, or the diameter of a sphere into the corresponding field. After a mouseclick on any free space of the window or on the "calculate" button you may read the result. By the help of the pull-down menus you can show the results in other units.
For another calculation you just have to type the new value. Or you click on the "reset" button before.

Example: How much is 1 oil barrel (U.S. liquid) in SI-units ? Choose the unit "bbl" in the pull-down menu for volume units. Then type the value "1" into the corresponding field. After a mouseclick on any free space of the window or on the "calculate" button the calculation is performed. By choosing "dm³=l" as volume unit, you may read that 1 oil barrel corresponds to a volume of about 159 liters. This could be the volume of a cube with a side length of 54.2 cm or of a sphere with a diameter of 67.2 cm.
